She came back and so far so good (2 months)

Everyone saying that this should NEVER happen is being ridiculous.

Somepeople just do not handle their emotions as well as others and my GF is definetly a person who will let things build up and boil over to the point she just has to get away from everyone and everything including me. Its just how she handles her problems and I have no right to try to change her.

uh....yeah. This is part of the male mentality. I'm not saying that ALL men are incapable of making a commitment and sticking to it...just a lot of them. My ex-bf/fiance/best friend is currently living in another town miles away, but still calls and comes over whenever he's in town. We "talk" on messenger. We still have all the things that we fell in love over, but he is just not capable of dealing with the intimacy of a "relationship." This is not the first time he has run from me, but it will be the last. I am disengaging my heart from the situation, and we will remain friends only. I've devoted 3 years of my life to this, and I'm done.

Good luck!

my husband told me he needed to leave because he wasn't happy and needed time to think. I live in PA and he went back to NY where he's from. We were separated for 9 months before he got his head together and came back home. We've been married for 4 1/2 years and are still working through some issues. It can work but it takes two to work on it not just one.

Always remember this, If you love someone set them free. If they don't come back it wasn't meant to be............

Any time I have heard or said the words "i need space" I knew either I wanted out or the other party wanted out but neither of us had the guts to say it...honestly I think it's a nice way to say it's over.

Frankly anyone who needs their space bad enough to walk away from the person they committed to should keep right on walking. While he's getting himself together, I'd be moving on.
