An ecosystem is made up of plants and animals that live together in balance. If you take away an animal from that ecosystem, it falls out of balance.
If you take away a predator - say you kill eagles - you end up with smaller animals like rodents becoming too numerous. Of course, they're protected by law, so you end up in jail, as well...
If you take away certain types of insects, due to chemicals in the ecosystem or whatever, you end up with plants that cannot be pollinated, which both cuts down on food for other animals and upsets other parts of the ecosystem.
Every part of the ecosystem is like a building block. If you take one of the blocks out of a wall, the wall may stand for a while, but eventually it will crumble. The same will happen to an ecosystem.
I suggest you do some research on Australian ecosystems; the info should be pretty easy to find at the library, or online. There were various animals and plants that were introduced when the country was first colonized to try to change the ecosystem to make it more conducive to the ranching or farming that was started there. However, the people who first changed the ecosystem didn't realize what those changes would mean, and some bad things happened. They tried to balance it by bringing other animals or plants in, and while it helped in some ways, it damaged it in others. How they eventually fixed it is really kind of interesting!
Anyway, I hope that helps - both the info and the research idea. I don't know the details of your project, but hopefully this will give you ideas.

food chain if some thing missing in the chain the system fails example you eat an apple you go to bathroom waste feeds the micro organism ,turn the wast into food for plants which purify the air we breath and make food we eat so we co exist if the apple is not here you can not leave and so if you or any animal let it be A dog ,monkey ,lion we co exist with plants because we feed each other

well the full answer is really long, when you kill certain animals in an ecosystem, the animals they preyed on rise in numbers very quickly, then the animals they pry on fall in numbers because all the animals that dont have a predator are eating them and so on! do you see the cycle of events after lowering the numbers of one species!!!
i could email you more info from my biology book if you like, email me if you do!

Animals tend to die from loss of habitat. That means if they can't find a place they like, they just don't breed. They're also finiky about what they eat and just won't eat otherwise. For example a giraffe eats leaves and will never eat grass. Gorillas breed in bamboo groves and won't live in a cave.
