I am wanting to build multiple pages on a website using CSS and xHTML that all use the same image with the text over the image changing on each page. What is the most basic code needed to accomplish this?

The easy way is just create a division with the image as the background. Then dispaly whatever text you like!
You can call it using either a style sheet (prefered method) or inline but the basic code would be
Inline

Put your text in here and it will be on top of the image

That way you can just call the same image over and over with different text.. You can also set repeat values if needed.

One of my favorite places to find these types of things is

there are some really great tips in there.. I didn't get this one from there but I am sure it is on that site someplace also.

For just a background tiled image underneath the HTML:

CSS

No tiling, central:

Now if you don't want a background image but just text/HTML over an image then here is code to place some text halfway down an image on top of it:

Put your text here

You can replace this text with HTML also.

Thumbnails! The sideshow plenty to slowly in my different laptop which makes use of a slow broadband connection. besides, from the thumbnails, you're arranged to already see what pictures a shopper could desire to like :) that's for practicality although :) Aesthetically speaking, slideshow could desire to be nicer to the eyes :)
