Sure, it's sort of a stupid question, as BOTH bands are incredibly great. But I'm asking it anyway & please give your reasons WHY you pick one or the other band.

Definitely, the Beatles, and, I agree with you, as BOTH bands are incredibly great.

The Beatles were accepted by our parents because the only problem with them was not their lyrics but their long hair. Their hair seemed long to WWII veterans who had to keep their hair cut short during their youth. Hair length, that the Beatles had, was rebellious.

The Rolling Stones were considered more hard core and sexy. This really angered those same parents.

The Beatles were fun. It took me a few years and a tour to Vietnam to enjoy the Rolling Stones. I, now, enjoy them both.

Beatles because the Rolling Stones don't have the class like they did.

This is a moot point. I recently found out that my mother was more of a Stones fan than a Beatles fan - yet when I was growing up, she only ever played her Beatles records. Go figure.

STONE ME!
The Beatles were a flash in the pan, The Stones have stood the test of time.

Depends on what you mean by "better". More money, more songs, more longivety...

They each addressed a different population, and they each appeal to a different group.

I cannot see the Beatles doing "Citty of New Orleans", and I cannot see the Stones doing "Yellow Submarine"...

How's that for a reason?

Ron.

Stones.... come on, the Beatles couldn't pony up to "Brown Sugar' or " Beast of Burden". But the Stones could crooned " Yesterday".
