I may be going too far on this, but I'll give you my opinion. The lady should not only have that seventh day off, but she should have an extra half day during the week as well. A woman needs some "me time", you know. And in the end, the whole family will benefit. She will be more refreshed and better able to continue with the rest of her responsibilities.

I don't cook.... I only clean preselected areas of the house of MY choice. I only wash my clothes. Then again, I work and go to school both of which are full time.
To answer your question on the broader scale, women deserve more than 1 day off a week. The chores should be split equally. You cook, she cleans and vice versa. They should also be administered according to the participants work load. I do jack b/c I have an entire day to be consumed by work, for example. It would be a different story if the said woman had no job or kids, then she needs to clean house. Only then could your above question be applied to the said woman.

We have a disabled child; there is never a day off from his care. Other than that, my husband works 5 days a week outside the house, and I work inside the house 5 days. Weekends, we share responsibilities. Cooking is something
he enjoys, so he cooks several times a week. I do the same.

I don't have a husband or a boyfriend, but I have a dad and a brother. They just sit in front of the TV while my mom and I clean. So pretty much, they never give my mom and I a day off from cleaning up the mess they make of the house.

I don't need anyone to tell me to take a day off. As I live alone, I set my own schedule. If I decide I want to cook and clean, I cook and clean. If I don't want to, I don't. If I lived with a boyfriend, it would be the same. I would probably choose to cook and clean a little more, but the responsiblities would be shared between us, not just handled by me.

I don't think my girlfriends or future wife could. I mean, I'm always cleaning because I cannot stand to live in a mess. But I don't like to cook, I think I would leave that up to her. But you realize there are no 'womanly duties' right? I mean, a male HAS to do that stuff too you know

No, he would not get upset. I agree with you that meals should be prepared without using the Microwave most of the time. Nothing can replace a good, homecooked meal.

first off, its not only the womans job to do that stuff... anyone that thinks that is a sexist jerk... in my opinion... i get to relax quite often because my husband and i do everything together and we get it done a lot fast than we would if we were doing it alone. Then we have more time together...
