I have been told that in disney waterparks it is better if you wear flip flops so that your feet don't get too hot and worn out walking around. I wanted to know how I can wear them when I want to go around the park going on slides? I can't wear them on the slide so how do I get around this problem?

I only want to go to Disney waterparks because I don't really like wet n' wild.
I have been before so I know the general set-up of the parks.

Has anybody got around this problem or does someone have other advice on how to protect your feet.

I was at Typhoon Lagoon in May and I was bearfoot the whole time and never had any trouble with my feet. I don't remember stepping on any surface that was too hot or uncomfortable. I thought they did a great job of keeping everything clean and cool!

You need to pack very comfortable things, like shorts and loose shirts, and if you sunburn, (I don't sunburn, so I assume some other people might not) lots of sunblock. Also, take some shoes that have very very good arch support, because the parks are giant. Also, I would take some hats and or sunglasses, because when there is sun, it is extremely sunny and it's hard to open your eyes for pictures. Take some sandals. And my apologies, but Blizarrd Beach is temporarily closed for refurbishment, but typhoon lagoon is open. I am at disneyworld right now, and it's raining, but tomorrow will be sunny. The weather is PERFECT. a little chilly at night, 50-60 degrees with wind, but during the day, it's 70-85 degrees with light wind, so I am assuming it may be a bit hotter when you go. Right now the crowds are okay, it's my spring break, most people have it next week or the week after, so you will probably have a crowd like mine. Also take a lot of money for things to buy at the stores after the rides, because this stuff is convincing and you'll want it all. The first answer was incorrect, you can buy autograph books in the regular Disney stores, and you can buy photo albums and frames. Rides I recommend: Space mountain (MK) Expedition Everest ( haven't gone on it yet, but heard it was excellent ) (AK) Peter Pan's adventures (MK) Jungle Safari (MK) Kali Rapids (AK) Test Track (E) All the rides are great, but these are my favorites. .

Flip flops would definitely be a good idea because the ground gets really hot, but you could lose them on the ride. However they do have water shooting up from the floor to cool the ground down (sort of like a sprinkler). So it doesnt hurt to wear anything but some parts are really hot. So it wouldn't hurt to wear watershoes. But personally it really does not good !

Any type of water shoe will work. There are many styles. The one's with the closed backs are the best because this will allow you to enjoy the rest of the park.
Going on the slides? Well, you will have to raise your feet so that you will not get stuck along the way.
Been there, done that.
Have fun!

At water parks, the less accessories you have to hold onto or keep safe the better. Footwear of any type is unncessary and you're going to have to think about what to do with them every time you get ready to go on a slide. They'll be far more hassle than what they're worth. Barefoot really isn't bad at all.

i believe water shoes is your only options. wet n' wild would let you wear flip flops on rides, however disney waterparks are much more fussy and i think i do recall that you could not because they can catch b/c they are not attached to your feet, however water shoes are. i would recommend calling the park.

the only thing they allow on slides is water shoes, because they don't fall off like flip-flops would. they also aren't that bad, because the water can go through them, and they separate your feet from the germy cement of disney by far way better than flip-flops. have fun, i know you will!

I always went barefoot, Disney is really good about keeping the pavement cool with the sprinklers and if its hot run a little to get to a cooler place LOL. This way its less stuff you have to tote around with you.

We wore water shoes, tie on rubber sole net shoes. They were perfect. We never had to take them off and they lasted through all the rides.
