Let me flip the script and put myself in your place. If my brother was about to marry a white woman, I would be mad as hell, honestly. I would think 'with all the good single black women out there, why are you marrying a white one?' HOWEVER, if my brother truly loved this woman and wanted to marry her, then I would have no choice but to accept it. He is my flesh and blood, after all. And he's a grown man who has the right to love who he wants to. so, if the black man makes your sister happy, just be there for her. She'll have enough outside pressures as it is being in a interracial relationship. She doesn't need the pressure and stigma from her own family.

You say you don't want this for your family. There may be an alcoholic in your family, an obese person, or a person who is abusive in your family. Oh well. Deal with it. No family is perfect. If your sister loves a black man and wants to marry this black man, then let her. You can't stop her. No one stopped me from marrying my husband. You can't arrest her or lock her in your closet. Grow up!

I do not believe in marrying into another race but if this is what your sister wants and she truly loves this person, then the odds of you're changing things seems like 0.

Take away his color - if he was a man of your race, looking at his personality, the way your sister feels about him, his job, etc., would you still want her to marry him?
If he's a good guy and makes your sister happy, by you making a big deal out of his race makes you look like a complete moron - you'll lose all credibility and respect and it will take years to get that back.
Unless he's mistreating your sister, it's none of your business. Thankfully, love is color blind.

I don't think there's much you can do. Your sister is in love and that's that. You can either accept it or you can lose a sister. It's your choice.

i think if your sister likes the black man let her marry him, this is love, if you truely love somebody you would risk anything for that love. and of course you won't look at the skin's color

You should just be honest with........yourself! You are a racist, so tell her and I'm sure she will marry him anyway. After all, I think that's what she should do if she really loves him.

your sister loves the guy right? even if you dont like him, i think that every one is entitled to marry anyone they love. you nmight not like him but it makes your sis happy, right? try to get to know him. appearances isnt everything. he might be nice and all. your sis has her own mind. if she thinks that marrying the guy will make her happy, than just leave her. it dosent matter if he's black, white, cream, brown...etc. what matters is your sis loves him and is happy with him.

you're biased. you need to understand that you can't control attraction. doesnt matter what color the person is. your family is not going to be hurt by this. people need to understand that what you asked is what is killing the U.S. right now. it's 2007 not 1797.
