If they vote on us to help them, it gives us legitimacy, if not, we can and should leave. We went there in part to help them obtain a democracy. Let's have them vote on this most important issue.

Theyve already done it. And around 80% want us out.
If it was split around 50-50, I could understand staying. But 80% is overwhelming.
Not to mention that around 70% now feel its OK to kill American soldiers.
Theyve spoken, but we're not listening.

Good suggestion... however, I don't know if it would work because either their own straggling government would tell them how to vote.. or the terrorists would kill them if they tried. Not to mention the U.S. would likely threaten to cut off aid if they voted a certain way.
it is a no win situation for the poor Iraqi people.
