It makes me so mad bc i just had a friend come out and he said he didnt know if he should have becasue he think that it may have been wrong. The only wrong thing about this is other peopel treating other people bad over something they can not control. People can't control if they want a penis or a vagina. This is just like saying that it's wrong to have red hair, or big feet, or black skin. People should not get discriminated over what they are and who they are. This world just sickens me sometimes.

I like guys, but I wouldn't prefer to be a girl just to "be straight".
People think it because they are just sucked deep into their religious beliefs...

It makes me really sad.
I actually have a lot of friends that are Gay and I love them just the same, I don't see a difference!
But the one thing I do believe is that you are not BORN gay, but you can become gay depending on things that happen to you and how you are raised. I don't think it's a choice, I know it happens, but it's not something you're born with.
The world doesn't understand!

No doubt about it -- it's not a choice. I don't struggle with a dillema of choosing 'a' or 'b'. I'm straight. I don't feel I have a choice to be gay -- it's not an option. Anybody who feels it's a choice would have to be somebody who struggles with what they consider to be their own "demons", and will just wear a beard for as long as they can stand it.

I think they are judging on what they feel. They can't imagine themselves with someone of the same sex. So for some crazy reason they think that Gay's choose. I have a cousin who is Gay and he is celibate and there are still some people who cuss him because he hasn't married a woman and he is still feminine himself. They say because he still must have thoughts about other men he is still gay so therefore guilty of sinning.

This is a matter of what's acceptable and not acceptable at some point in time. What do you think about those people who are attracted to animals? How about those who are attracted to their siblings (sisters/brothers)? Obviously "they did not choose to". But, does the mere factor that they did not choose to make it right? how about serial killers who for some reason feel like they want to go around and kill people, not because tey choose too, but because in their twisted minds, that is what they are called to do. It is a very delicate subject.

The people who say that obviously must choose to be straight.

I didn't choose to be straight so I know sexuality is not a choice.

i think it is similar to someone who is an alcoholic. they choose whether or not to be controlled by the desire to drink.

it's like a demon. we all deal with different ones. some deal with drug demons, some with pornography demons, some with lying demons. society just ranks them for us as to which ones society thinks are worse than others. the fact is they are all just as bad as each other.

i'm not saying that someone who is gay is BAD!! just that that is the demon they must fight. like the theif must fight the demon, or desire, to steal!

Those that believe it is a choice have either...

1) not truly thought about it

2) are looking for an excuse to justify their bigotry

Usually, because they don't know any better and they try to have a "logical" explanation for what they don't understand. It takes education, although ignorance will still continue.
