While I am actually viewing YA on a fairly decent laptop, my network is set up using an IBM Model 80 computer. An old microchannel unit that I have used as a gateway/DNS server since the mid 90's. It has 128M of RAM and a 2 GIG hard drive (top of the line when I installed it). It has operated flawlessly for over a decade now, so why mess with it?

No! we've sufficient complication with 13 year olds, asking issues like, "Do you think of i'm surprisingly"? and "i want to placed on lipstick, yet my be sure's say no, would desire to I"? Questions much greater inane than those, i basically can not think of of them off the precise of my head. not in basic terms that, yet there are some sexually oriented questions here too. i would not permit my baby at here until eventually he replace into 15 or sixteen years old, never at ten!

Good for you. I'm sick of answerers who boast of the latest hardware. Any idiot can blow hundreds of pounds on a PC. It takes patience and skill to maintain an old PC. Incidentally have you tried Puppy Linux on that machine? Its free, lightweight, easy, highly functional and doesn't need installing in order to use it.

dont knock it davey-boy,my first ever intel p.c was a pentium 2 ...233mhz and 128mb ram(and 4gb hard drive),and it was the most reliable p.c i have used
it never crashed and i had one problem with it which was self induced,i went on a rogue website and got infected with spyware
the problem with todays p.c,s are although they are very powerful with hoards of memory and hard drive capacity, with all this power comes more chance of problems and errors
p.c,s are running more programs and applications that were ever dreamed of,and with the new breed of dual core processors and high end graphic cards the skys the limit!
the question i would ask yourself is "does your p.c meet its needs in what you want it for" and if so then dont knock it
i reckon your p.c will still be serving you fine in another five years
good luck davey boy
