I love learning languages and always want to learn more!!! I can speak/read/understand 11 languages from a few words to fluency. I feel it is a mark of respect to want to learn someone else's language.
While I am fluent only in English, I can read and understand Italian, Latin and French. I can understand a little Spanish, Portuguese. I know a few words in Hindi, Japanese, Chinese, Russian and German.
English is my native language. My ancestry is Italian. I studied Latin and French in high school and French and Italian in college. I lived in Japan. I took a Chinese class.
I live in Southern California so picking up a little Spanish was inevitable plus it's so close to Italian that it's somewhat understandable.
I've picked up a few Portugese words from some good friends who have been trying to teach me a little.
The Hindi is perhaps the most unusual one... you see, I fell in love with the music and I always have to sing along with songs. So I started looking up the lyrics and there you are... started to learn what some of the words mean... and I'm told my accent is actually not bad... although no one comments on my singing.... teehee.
I love to say that I can sing in six or seven languages!!

I can speak/read/understand 3 languages fluently.
I used to learn Japanese and Mandarin but I've forgotten a lot.
When I visited Beijing, we went to a market and this nice girl said: You look Chinese. But you don't speak Mandarin. How come? Then I said: Oh.. I can. Then I said the words - I'm not going to write it here.. too rusty.. - And she laughed. Those words mean "have no money." My mother used to say it a lot to us.. haha...
We ended up buying something from her after a tough calculator battle. Nice..
I'm now learning French.. It's a bit hard - especially to make the commitment - because I don't go to any course. I'm using a software and have got a trouble to produce the 'r' sound...and many more troubles ahead, I guess.
I'm a citizen of the world, was born in a hospital under Libra Sun, and am a legal alien in Oz. My native language is sympathy.

Unfortunately just two. I took Spanish from 4th grade through college, but since I don't use it on a regular basis, I can't speak fluently enough to really carry on a good conversation. I think it's a beautiful language, and I LOVE watching Spanish films (as long as I can read the subtitles too, lol).
My native tongue is English, and I was born in the US.

In two colleges, I took 2.5 years of Chinese, 2 years of French, a year of Japanese and a year of German. I studied the languages of Russia and the Philippines for a while. As an educated man, I know much Latin and Greek. I have picked up some phrases in Korean, Vietnamese and Spanish. My #1 gal is from Japan now.

Probably 8 or 9 languages. Computer languages - that is.

English is my first language. I studied French for 4 years. I've forgotten most of it but I can still speak a little and read a litlle. I'd love to take some referesher courses.

I learned Japanese in high school, but I forgot most of it.
