Ask any relative of a victim of Mohammedan terrorism. If a wiretap would have saved his/her life . . . . ?

I think if the mosque is one that is of the Wahhabism branch then yes we need to monitor this one since they are the ones typically aligned with radical Islam throughout the world. Other mosques should only be monitored if they are caught in the funding of foreign radical groups by the Department of Treasury.

Why not just send somebody there and listen? Mosques are open to everybody and I would suggest that many people on this site go there and get information from Muslims themselves and not from the media or some anti-Islamic site or book.

Hopefully, that will lessen idiotic answers such as that all 1.2. billion Muslims in the world want to kill Americans.

Where there is cause for concern, the government should take reasonable measures to keep us safe.

We're at war.

I would neither routinely wiretap all mosques nor refuse to do it for fear of offending someone.

It depends on what we think is going on in each case.

Wiretap...infiltrate...they will get their info one way or another...matters little what I or any other citizen thinks since we do not know the extent of whats going on. We only know the few pearls of information we have managed to glean out of our media sources. We basically have only partially formed opinions with partial information.

Do what they have to do to protect my children...I know I would.

Should. Since current terrorist threats are lead by Islamic religious zealots, I see no problem with it. Just as I, as a recovering catholic, have no issue with the Feds investigating the church for sexual misconduct. One of the first rules in law enforcement is to follow the patterns.

They need a warrant for suspects it must be supported by probable cause and be limited in scope. This is constitutional law!

You pass a law like this, then other religions will no longer be protected by the constitution in the future.

It would be more efficient than sniffing the whole Internet, as we know SOME Mosques are harbengers of anti-American indoctrination. However it may be a good idea to get out of their country also.
