Don't do it! Why are you even considering doing this? Go to a professional it's not that expensive. If you do it yourself you will probably get an infection.

Its a bad idea, but if you are going to.....
I might as well tell you how to pierce ur navel safely.
If you have an innnie belly button
Step 1. Pull out the skin surrounding the button, away from your stomach.
Step 2. Hold onto the skin with your left hand, and with your right hand pinch and pull up the skin at the top of your belly button
Step 3. Swab it and a thick needle, and the GOLD jewelery you are going to put in the piercing with rubbing alchohol.
Step 4. Ice the part of skin until it is numb, then make a dot with a sharpie where you want the piercing to be.
Step 5. Pull the skin away again. The skin should be a centimeter-long piece of skin to the top of your belly button, atleast a centimeter away from your skin.
Step 6. Place a peice of frozen potato or apple behind the piercing, and plunge the needle into the dot and through the skin
Step 7. Screw in GOLD jewelery, and don't take it out for a year. Clean around the jewelery every day, and twist it once day also.
For an outie bellie button
1. Swab the needle, jewelery and belly button with alchohol. Pull out the belly button, ice it, mark it, and pierce right through it.

are yo a qualified peircer?
if not...DONT BE DAFT!
you need a special curved type of peircing needle for the navel peircing, and its not like a normal needle either. the needle has to be new and clean, you need to sterilize the area (some peircers shave that area to get rid of the fine hairs) and you would need a new, sterile stainless steel or real gold belly bar... and some spray anesectic to numb the area. also antiseptic fluid to keep the area clean for next week or two.
shop around and find a peircer that will do it for a reasonable price.. average price nowdays for navel peircing is £12 some are higher like £25 and i know a place that does it for £8 in nottingham.
dont risk doing it urself, things can go wrong and you dont wanna end up with an infection or worse!

Assuming you want to show off your pierced belly button you should really only get it done professionally. If you do it yourself and it gets infected or scars your belly will be under wraps for the rest of your life and I know you don't want that.
I take it you're young and need the parental consent which you aren't getting and that's why you want a diy-job. Just be patient till you hit 16, don't risk ruining your stomach just because mommy said no.

Have you noticed that those belly piercings that are professionally done have a larger gage ring than your typical earring?
It is because you belly ring will get knocked, tugged & pulled & if you use a regular earring hoop, it can easily pull it's way through your skin...much like a cheese slicer.
If you get it professionally done (about fifty bucks) they will use a larger gage needle to do the piercing so that you can wear the safer & thicker hoop or ring.
I pierced mine myself 15 years ago(with a large diaper pin~yes, it hurt)...when I was younger & dumber. Luckily I did not end up with any infections.
However, I will point out that piercing it at home means that my piercing is not straight, nor can I wear the larger gage rings... so I have to wear the gold break-away hoops & inevitably they do break away & I have to replace them.

u could pierce your ear yourself which isnt advisable but never ur belly button. the risks of infection are so high and you dont want to end up with one. im talkin about gross stuff here where youll need antibiotics or even hospitalization. its not worth it. for the price of getting it done professionally it is worth it in the long run and ull be given proper aftercare advice

Ow! I once tried to pierce myself but it was with all sterile professional equipment in the company of a professional. Trust me it's not easy and short of having the stuff, don't!
For the sake of a few quid go to a registered piercer and let them do it.

I am surprised that someone with such a stupid idea is allowed to use a computer. Does your mother know? The navel if infected can cause serious peritonitis (nasty disease) and be the source of very dangerous infections (sore bits). You would be better sticking to watching paint dry as a source of entertainment.
