When I bought mine, it didn't come with very detailed intstructions. Also, do you have to have some special paper for that kind of embossing? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You can also use a ball stylus inside a stencil (preferably a hard one like brass or plastic). Generally something soft is placed below the paper, but some papers like vellum I think will be "marked" by the pressure alone and become more opaque in those areas.

Check out some of these sites too:

I'm not too sure abt. this but I think you can use it with any paper. Maybe there is special paper too. I go to Pat Catan's a lot. They have lots of that stuff there too. There's some kind of light box I think that you can buy and put paper on and then a stencil and trace with the stylus.

I hope I lead you in the right direction. Sorry I cannot help more.

Good luck!

Using either light box or plastic stencils I find by placing wax paper or jam jar covers(use for hand made jam making)it makes the embossing stylus draw better

I have only seen it used on card stock in making designs. On the front of the card you use a thin stylus to mark out your design, then turn the card over, you'll be on the back side, place your work on something spongy, like a mouse pad, and run your embosser over the parts you want to be raised on the front.
