Because I work with skinny people and know that they are what society says is attractive. I need to lose weight and I'm working on it. I have set myself goals. I try to follow them but life sends us curve balls. I don't complain about how I look. I just know that I need to do something to make myself healthier. That means losing weight. I'm cutting out the sugar and I've cut out the fat along time ago. I'm drinking more water instead of pop. I just have to have more will power. I think it's working. My clothes are fitting better and I'm feeling better. I guess that's what it really comes down to, how you feel inside!

I don't hate my body!! I am perfectly content in my weight, height, eye color etc. The only things that I do for appearance sake--is color my hair, which I didn' t like but it was fixable, and mani/pedi(my nails and feet need pampering!)--I take care of myself, I am pretty inside and out. I am perfectly content with my body and what God gave me. AND My hubby LOVES my body and how I look!!! (and so do others that give me approving looks and whistles!)
And yes, I carry about 10-15 lbs of luggage more than I should, it is evenly distributed and I was given that as a parting gift from having children!!! LOL

The ongoing quest for external beauty. The question is more so of an internal than the seemingly internal one. Do we like how we look based on what we think or what others are portrayed in society.
I look at myself at what I am, a God created individual....wait I do believe i said the key word...Individual. Peer pressure, I used to detest that phrase when my parents used it, but now i understand where they were coming from. Peer pressure not only comes from friends, but from millions of inputs in our society IE; tv, news, radio, ads, movies ETC.
So the questions comes full circle, do you love yourself enough to see that you are an individual, God designed to be just that, not the hulking bodybuilder on TV, or the sultry mistress on desperate housewives.
Now you may wish to better yourself, and by all means do, but one must remember our motives when doing such. Is it to better ones inner being for ones self, our ones outer being for the praise and/or criticisms of others.
Love thy self, as God loves you
Hope this helped

Probably because there so much surgery anorexic superficial people that are getting lipo and are making people worry about thinking they are fat comparing themselves to 90 pound 23 year olds. These people who make themselves so skinny are having people die each day because they are starving themselves in order to get that body. I am happy that I love everything about my body.

Everybody strives for perfection, it's a fact of life, no matter how much we change there will always be something else we want to change.

If I had a girlfriend that was as demanding as my body is, I'd dump her.
"feed me. clean me. I'm sleepy. I'm tired. I'm sick...."
My body won't give me a moment's peace, and it does Nothing except get fatter and harder to deal with. Not to mention the hair its decided to grow in weird places--
Of course we hate our bodies. It wouldn't be normal Not to.

I blame the media, creating impossible standards of beauty....and even the movie stars are insecure about their looks.
Bah, humbug.
