The Pentium core 2 duo processors are faster than the Pentium Dual core technology processors(Pentium D Processors)... No doubt about it.

Yes they are. You are one of the few people who is getting this right, there is such a thing as Pentium Dual Core that is totally different from Pentium D. The Pentium Dual Cores are essentially Core 2 Duos with less cache, and in some cases lower front side bus. as you can see from the benchmarks, while the results are mixed in some tests, for the most part they do outperform the Pentium Ds. And as you can also see, there biggest potential is in overclocking, they overclocked them there high enough to outperform the $1000 Core 2 Extreme in a majority of tests.
