Although I am seriously afraid of snakes, I held one last night and it was the coolest thing ever!

If he didn't bite and wasn't poisonous I would. I think the actual biting scares me more than the poison.

Yes I would be willing to hold a non-poisonous snake for the sake of putting it on a stick and roasting it over an open fire.

Never. I am afraid of snakes. They scare when I see them in the wild. When I go to the zoo I am not afraid to look at snakes because they are behind glass and cannot get to me. I get my fear of snakes from my dad and grandma(his mother). They do not like them either. My mother had a picture of herself made bigger and she put it in a picture frame and gave to my father for a Christmas gift one year. My father never put the picture up because my mother was holding a snake.

I have friends with non-poisonous snakes and I hold them all the time! Never had a problem!

Yes, I have held snakes before. I don't have a fear of them although I am not going to go around picking them up in the wild. I DO believe in the rule "I leave them alone, they will leave me alone"
They are so nice to touch. For those who haven't, let me tell you, snakes ARE NOT slimy. They are actually very dry but VERY SMOOTH to touch.

I think people aren't really afraid of snakes. Just the thought of being bit by a venomous one. I would loooove to hold a snake.

I have. I thought I wanted one when I was younger. Pets are alot of work. Snake poop stinks like nothing I've ever smelled. Uggg! Yuck. They are very cool. Just not for me as a pet. Way to go on getting past your fear.

Yeah, I love snakes!! I used to have an Emerald Tree Boa named Wookie... (A green, hairless wookie) Ahh, those were the days.
