It's actually pretty pathetic. Just proves our WASP-y paternalistic society is a lot more backward than we'd like to admit.
I hope it happens soon. I love being an American, but when the "greatest country in the world" can't elect someone to run our government just because they have a vagina, we have serious issues we have to address.

who knows when this will happen in America...the only chance we have is with Hillary in the next ellection.
However India's first women Prime Minister was in 1966 (Indira Gandhi), so the U.S. should really get one by now.
