Do we really have control over our own being? Are we unable to attain perfection because of being bound to the strings pulled by the unseen hand? How independent of God can we be on any sustained basis?

I think that various religions have put forth this puppeteer scenario so that they can get people to give up their God-given free will and God-given ability to think for themselves. Once they give it up and turn it over to the Mullahs of any faith, they can also be sure they will be turning over their pocketbooks.
If you believe it is all scripted from the beginning and that there is no choice, then it follows that the Catholic priests who raped and abused little boys were doing God's will. It's outrageous, and cannot be accepted.
It's so easy to give up all responsibility for all your decisons in life. You can always blame God for leading you in the wrong direction, if you believe this way.

If I were God. I've done it all, seen it all and know it all.

The absolutely LAST thing I would EVER do, would be to make a race of puppets.

Seriously, I would use all my power to create creatures whose behavior would continuously surprise me.

I would also mark Plato's grave and encourage people to desecrate it as part of their religious duties, because the concept of objective perfection is painfully absurd.

The theory below is shown as a single predicate. It means only what you can see of the geometry of the multiverse. There is no special training that is needed to understand what you can see.
What is important to your question is the relationships that are indicated at the very bottom.

The theory indicated as a single predicate.
I am sorry. I could not get the editor to correctly display the predicate. To see the predicate correctly you can go to

The E=mc2 is the relation ship of energy to matter.
----------------------------------------------
In universe1(side) E=mc2 is in 3d space. If we generate the same relationship in universe2(side) creation=being times c2. is in 3d time. To me that is as close to "Let there be light" as we are likely to get.

This is us in universe 1 time.
-------------------------------------------

In universe 1 time this same relation ship results with (being=creation) the exponent is a 1 and there is no need to relate to the limit speed. This says that the future does not exist and therefore can not be experienced. It can only be calculated by the factors of the past in the form of probability. Creation happens as we experience the result of our free will. We have the outcome of our lives available in mutable form in our imagination. When we decide on our actions, we create reality. Once it is created it is forever unchangeable. We can only change the future because the future does not exist until we create it. We can only move into the past as it is only the past that exists.

It is true we don't have control over many happenings. But we are also not doing our best for a better world.. We are not even trying If we don't have freedom ,we don't seem to deserve the little we have.

God granted us free will but he does have a plan for each of us. he directes us through the leading of the holy spirit but ultimately it is our choice...we choose to follow God or we choose hell....God wants the best for us but he won't force us...he loves us too much. that's why we don't all automatically go to heaven...you must choose Jesus for yourself.

hope you believe the same...

Rabbi Akiba says:

"All is foretold, but the freedom of choice is given to everyone"

Or as my mother used to say: "There is a pattern we are meant to follow. Shut up and get on with it".
