I bought an item from an online retailer and it turned out to be faulty, so I sent it back royal mail special delivery at £20, I then phoned the company up to see if I could pay the difference and they return it via royal mail special delivery, so I paid the extra £30 for guaranteed saturday delivery, anyway didn't come so I phoned up this company who checked it out and the sent it out via standard delivery, and said they will give me a store credit for £30, but I don't want that I want a refund. what can I do?

I would tell them that you paid them for special delivery and that is what you expect. Find out their contact information and tell them that if they don't refund you the £30, then you will take legal action to claim your money back.
