It is not, especially at my age and this point in my life. As I think back going out to clubs and partying never was something that would have made or not made a friendship for me. It just was not a big issue. Drinking was not that important for me to have friends. I make friends pretty easily and it rarely ever included booze and partying.

I suppose this question is pointed towards the younger crowd, but you didn't give an age group so I will respond. This is the easiest question for me yet that you have posted here at Yahoo! Answers. lol

Currently in my life clubbing is not important to me at all. I would happily makes friends with others who do not go clubbing.

On the other hand I would be friends with those who do go clubbing too. I like many different people and just because they have activities they enjoy which I don't doesn't mean we won't have the ability to be friends. The best group of friends is one which is diversified. The differences are a great stimulation. The conversations are superb, and as long as all are willing to "agree to disagree" when we hit an impasse all is well. The ability to agree to disagee if vital for the health of any relationship. It allows individuals their own beliefs while each respects the different opinions and thought processes of the others.

Now, I use to love to go clubbing. I love to dance as much as the next person and use to dance on a regular basis. I worked the swing shift at a mill once and I would get off work around eleven or twelve and go straight to my favorite club and dance till it closed, then go on home. I didn't drink that much as I never much cared for the effects of alcohol, but I do occassionally have a glass of wine or a whisky sour. Dancing is cathartic for me and it is a great way to get exercise.

I know that many go clubbing to look for date material, but I never looked for partners at clubs. I understand that there are a lot of good people who like the night life of clubs, I just felt it would be too easy to fall into a relationship accidently with somebody who likes the night life and drinking/substances too much. lol I won't say I never allowed myself to go on a date with somebody I met at a club, but it wansn't something I did often, and those times I did showed me the reasons not to do so. lol

Have a great day and wonderful weekend.

I wish the spellcheck worked on longer answers than a couple of short sentences! lol
