Ok, so I know that the 8600 GTS is Windows Vista ready, and it has some pretty nice specs as well. However, if I were to invest in the 8800 Ultra, would I be able to find the right drivers to use it on Windows Vista?

According to Nvidia, they have a new driver from June 2007 that supports the 8800 Ultra without SLI, here is the link: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x64_158.24_2.html . This download will work with any of the GeForce 8 series video cards, Nvidia uses a unified driver set, click the tab that says Products supported and make sure your video card is listed. This link is specifically for Vista 64bit. They claim that they have an SLI format available on a beta driver. Beta drivers are basically use at your own risk, they haven't been finalized by Nvidia, and they will not have WHQL digital certificates from Microsoft so you are likely to get a warning during installation.

any 8600 gt will do effective while you're sticking to wow in basic terms . yet you gave a great laptop setup with a quad and 5 gb ram so why not get a Ge tension 9600 as its lots greater suitable than 8600 gt in overall performance and you are able to play new video games additionally .

Check the NVidia web site. If there is a Vista driver it will be available there.
