EVERYONE would have to not vote. If only 3 people voted, there would still be an election, and whoever pulled in 2 of the votes, or just one if say 2 of the voters came from Wyoming and 1 came from New York, because New York is worth more in the Electoral college. SOMEONE will vote, if only the candidates.

You know that the candidates are going to vote. Maybe even their wife. So you'd get an election where the winner had 2 votes out of 3 for a whopping 66% of the voting public.

Someone would vote. But, if it really happened, the people already in office would stay in place, performing their duties, until another election was held. We wouldn't all wake up one day and find that there were no public officials because we skipped an election.

It's decided by the Senate, if Electoral College cannot decide, just because we suspect that decision was made for us a few times in our history does not mean we should encourage it.
