A good war time leader of a coalition government. He was quite poor in peace time, he grew up at the end of the 19th century which coloured his opinions.

An amazing orator and figurehead for Britain in its darkest hour.
On the negative side he was tactically naive - the Dardanelles in WW1, the dispatch of Repulse and Prince of Wales to the Far East without air cover in WW2, his obsession with landings in southern Europe or the Balkans instead of a direct assault on France - these all indicate his shortcomings in military matters.
Some other negative elements with his attitude towards the working classes during the miners strike in the 20s and the Irish during the uprising.
All in all a great but very flawed man.

Brilliant man that had a great sense of humor and history. He was the man that coined the phase, The Iron Curtain, when Stalin claimed eastern Europe for the Soviet Union. He was at a party and he was known to throw back a few. A women call him a dunk, and his response was, she was ugly, but when he woke up he would be sober, but she would still be ugly, or words to that effect

Sir Winston made a few mistakes in his time, especially with his decision over the Dardanelles but he is rightly thought of as our greatest ever prime minister. A truly great man in our country's hour of need

Well, he was chosen as prime Minister by the House because quote " To win this was we need our own Hitler. Gentlemen, I say Churchill" to which he replied "Then it is decided, Let's get on with it"

I'm paraphrasing of course, but even he knew he was cunning and cold hearted, but by God he won us a war!!!!!!
