Is troops now a substitute for "United States of America?

When we talk about what the USA should do, do we now talk about what the troops should do? Is that we have become...a country that can no longer decide its path...without thinking of it in military terms? And why is it that suddenly there has been a concert of voices from government telling us that the terrorists are stronger and more dangerous than ever, even though we have been following such a right course in years to defeat them..and why suddenly the concert of generals talking about "The troops need to stay in Iraq"?

Could what's being done to us be any more transparent....and predictable? Why do crooks always think they are smarter than honnest people?

The military serves the people. The military does not decide when to go to war or when to end war.

A military person is trained to fight and brainwashed to fight. A general will never say, I want to stop fighting. He will always say I want to win the fight, things are difficult, I need more resources, more weapons, more soldiers, more time etc..

Only the fools on this board preach the absurd concept that Bush is pushing that the Generals know best. Yes the generals know best how to fight a war, but it is a very dangerous and fascist thing to believe that we should listen to them to determine when we need to stop a a war that is immoral and never should have started in the first place. Lastly, what happened to the generals who have said we need to leave iraq? oh yeah...Bush fired them....lol

It is the same reason that the word Homeland security is now around, or Patriot Act, and to rise of Warrantless surveillance, and torture as acceptable, and why habeus corpus can be denied, and people can be thrown in jail permanently without knowing charges against them or trial, and why citizens excercising free speech and right to dissent are attempted to be silenced by the Fascist like "Shut up you america hater who is embolding the enemy....why dont; you leave and go live in Pakistan with Bin Laden"

It is also the same reason our country is influxed with illegal aliens taking jobs of americans and driving down wages, and same reason we are importing HB1 visa low wage workers for same reason and same reason we are outsourcing the jobs of americans to overseas sweatshops, and same reason we have record high gas prices right now , and no credible plan to wean us off oil, and same reason we have record foreclosures of homes at this time, and unafffordable health care for millions of citizens and oh so much more

All these things are interconnected....all part of the same trend.

The "Troops" being used as a synonym for america is connotes goosestepping fascism on the rise.

To answer your question about the "concert of voices" warning of growing terrorist strength, they do this to keep the people scared. Scared and demoralized people are easier to control and brainwash it also helps those who are in power to solidify they're power!
During the "war" in Vietnam, the same things were said about Communism, how if we pulled our troops out Nam would fall to the commies and it would be the beginning of the domino theory taking effect. Eventually we DID pull out of Nam, and yes the entire country went Communist, however the domino theory did not happen, in fact there are less Communist country's now then there was then!
This country (U.S.) is going down a very scary path right now and if we the people do not do something about it you are going to see a country that will not be unlike that which was depicted by George Orwell in his book 1984!
If we could/would develop the refinement of ethanol fuel, made from corn, we would not need any oil from the middle east and we could just flip the whole region off and tell them to take care of them selves! But there is no money in that for your fat cat corporate C.E.O.s!
I do find it hilarious that we have been fighting these terrorist for 5+ years now, and now they are stronger then they ever were, what does that say about us?

No, the word troops is not a substitute for "United States of America". Liberal Americans are not worthy of being included in any group labeled as "troops", so we must keep the blanket term "Americans". It is true that many crooks think they are smarter than everyone else. Hillary Clinton thinks she is a genius. Tell Zarqawi that islamofascist terrorists are stronger now. Remember him?
The person who said you are cheating the system because it is supposed to be 5 points for one question is right, and cheating is what I expect from liberals like you. I bet you gave him the thumbs down, right ?

A country that cannot defend itself will soon fall. Why is it that you want our country to lose so bad. The reason the generals are pleading to stay in Iraq, is because they know the Dems are trying to lose so bad, but the generals can win in Iraq. I trust the general over the politician any day of the week.

You expect civilians to fight terrorism in the field of combat?
Why wouldn't the terrorists get stronger, they span the globe.
How do you predict what mad men are going to do?
What crooks are you talking about?

Right now we have a government that has no plan for winning an unwinnable war in Iraq and Afghanistan. A lot of body bags are being filled and our leaders think that all the voters are asleep at the wheel - in other words, no one cares!
