hi,
taking into consideration the amount of money that you have saved and the amount you are thinking about spending. enjoy the idea of spending it because you have been very responsible with saving your rainy day money and you do have the right to spend some or all of it when ever you want to. and you should spend it on something that make you happy. new clothes, a platinum television, a play station, or anything that you think you would enjoy, even if it means buying something for someone else.

Yeah! The weathers horrendous for summer, it's a rainy day...why not?
Heh, well depending where you are. But an expensive-all-weather-wind-proof umbrella!!
Nah, maybe not the greatest idea! How about a summer treat? Really depends how much cash your toying with. A weekend away? A day out?

first i'd make sure you had long term savings set asside- ifnot for the rain then for the hurricane- or maybe just retirement- once you've got savings for that too, think about what brings you happiness- do you like to travel? go somewhere you wouldn't normal venture. Do you hae a hobbie? Indulge! Think of something that you've wanted or needed for sometime now but have been reluctant to purchase for whatever reason- maybe its season tickets to your favorite event or maybe some great additions to your wardrobe- but maybe you're finally able to donate money to that charity you've been meaning to or you're able to invest in riskier stock than you normally would- if it were me- it would be buying stock or traveling to somewhere exotic like Bali or Ankor wat...
what ever it is- congrats on saving! most people don't know the joys in haveing money in the bank instead of a closet full of things they don't need...

Buy nothing. Saving for a rainy day means you have an emergency fund when you need it

dont think you should blow it all now..just dip into it as its such a miserable weekend in the uk. and if that was me...it would be a bottle of wine, packet of ciggies & a good film from blockbusters....oh yes - bag of maltesers! then - you still have your rainy day fund!

Is it raining? If so, yes. Buy yourself a brand-new Bugati.
