Well I am exactly like that, the best I have read about the description of the Egyptians:.......
The Egyptians are an autochthonous people deeply attached to their land. Historically, it was rare for Egyptians to leave their country permanently or for an extended period of time—it was not until the 1970s that Egyptians began to emigrate in large numbers. Until only recently, a study on the pattern of Egyptian emigration was quoted as saying "Egyptians have a reputation of preferring their own soil. Few leave except to study or travel; and they always return... Egyptians do not emigrate." Egyptians also tend to be provincial, meaning their attachment extends not only to Egypt but to the specific provinces, towns and villages from which they hail. Therefore, return migrants, such as temporary workers abroad, come back to their region of origin in Egypt
That can explain this feeling a little but also, I have to mention that life in Egypt is somehow relaxing and cheap, if you stay for short time or as a holiday,,, and do not really be exposed to day by day problems,,, Besides , although that the Egyptians are becoming like everywhere else in the world -not that warm in feelings- still They are in a way, still one of the kindest ,, The religious attitude, can sometimes lead to problems ,, but still, give the Egyptians a very unique human touch,,,
Egyptians believe in the word 'Home', Egypt is our home,
The pharaohs themselves believed in after death they will be back to the paradise which was for them Egypt again.... so it is inherited all the way from the past
While living abroad (in a place where you do not see Egyptians ) I am dying everyday to hear the Egyptian accent,
Isearching for Egyptian radios over the net, cooking Egyptian food, declaring there to Everyone how great we are (although it is not that true),,, 10 years ago , I was crying even when I hear Mohamed Monir from a tape I have,,,,
It is our nature, plus also we always run to the unknown if we are not happy at our lives,, and we always blame the place in where we stay, not ourselves to justify the unhappiness , we have. (very Egyptian way to excuse ourselves

The more often I came to Egypt the less I wanted to leave.
So I have said goodbye to my homeland of Australia.
Australia is a great country but Melbourne in winter is horrible. So now I call Luxor, Egypt my new home instead of my other home,as it has been for too many years.
Birthdate 25/12 =Capricorn.

whenever i leave egypt for study or work , i count the days till im due to return. my soul belongs to egypt. i wasnt that interested in the biography of our political leaders who were exiled from egypt at the beginning of the 20th c. but when i was in a cold country in the west to study, and knew when i would return home, i was empathetic with those who didnt know when they would go back to their homeland i felt the pang of pain which the others suffered from, even stronger. on my trip home, i didnt have a nap as usual. i kept looking from the plane window till i saw the precious landmarks. i dont have mixed feelings for egypt. it's my homecountry. i leave it for a fixed period and rush back to enjoy my bed, toilet, kitchen , mine , not where im a visitor for a while. not where i carry the id of a forgeiner, not where i have to make long distance calls, not where i listen with apprehension whenever my cell phone rings, not where i have to make my reservations ahead of time , not where the soil has an unusual aspect, not where im a FOREIGNER that has to fit into the culture to be accepted. believe me there is NO PLACE LIKE HOME , mr capricorn . im a capricorn , too. i know how to find my way to success at home and abroad, but at home the taste is so sweet because it is shared with poeple who care. good luck wherever you are.

Yes... Every time I leave... and I do leave a lot.
Its a psychological thing... It is said that Humans belong to one of three main categories when it comes to attachment to their country or home:
1- The man of the River: We Egyptians belong to this category... its main characteristics are that we are attached to the land and the river being the farmers we are... we are usually simple, good natured and kind of romantic.
2- The man of the sea: Those are the ones who live by the sea side... they are traders, used to travel and can do exceptionally well in foreign places... An example are lebanese and our co citizen from Alexandria... they are humorous, intelligent and agile.
3- The man of the Mountain: They are as rigid as their surroundings... their feelings are rocky and they like to keep their distances from others... They are accurate, strong and resourceful. Their example are people from central europe... Germany and around.
By the way this is an established scientific fact... not some kind of horoscope, or astrological sign thing.
So being a river man... we are attached to the land regardless of what this land does to us... you can see it in endless human experiences and Egyptian works of art, equating land with life, honour, family etc...
So I hope now you know where this comes from and why you feel this way... Some times you are affected by your surroundings more than you know, I would say it even affects our genes to some degree.
I hope you won't fight this feeling and will keep missing Egypt and keep coming back.

I like to leave for vacation, for visiting an interesting place, to know more places, and also for work if necessary, and I always want to come back. There is nothing like home. At home we own everything, at home nobody can tell us go home one day.
A word to No Me Gusta, if you choose that name- which means I don't like- how can we expect that you will like anything. You have closed the door to liking anything. The mind cannot go far from how it thinks. There is even nothing called a slip of a tongue, a slip of a tongue says a lot to an observer.

Your feeling is natural. It's also logic that in each place you have advantages, so you wish to have both kinds of advantages in one place.
One good way to get over that feeling is to be realistic and to know what you have to sacrifice when you leave or what you have to sacrifice when you stay.
You have to accept one sacrifice of the 2, otherwise you'll lose both soon.
Good luck
