I don't believe it would because you are paying child support based on your income. It is always best to check with the child support agency where you make the payments and they can advise you based on the state you live in.
Child support is for the child's portion of the rent, utitlities, food and clothing. You are not helping her BUT helping your child.

If she tries to get the child support raised because she screwed up at work, you have a case against her having any custody of your children.
What kind of responsible parent loses their means of supporting their family? You--the one with the steady job where you are in good standing--would be a much better example to those kids (I know I'm assuming plural here). You could argue that, depending on why she lost her job, she is not a suitable parent.
But remember, child support is about your children, not your spouse. Don't punish the child because of the mom. But you may have to take possession of the children, just to be sure that the money you are giving for child support is going to them and not her.

Your child support will be based on approximately 17% of you income depending on the state you live in. You can go to your state's child support enforcement agency site and see how they determine the amounts of your payments.
For your child support to increase, she would have to file a petition for modification based on a change in circumstances. She is liable for half of the child's support and would need to get a new job.
I don't think you have to sweat it. Getting an order changed to increase support is no simple thing, so relax. Take care of your child and enjoy.

i really am not sure on this one, it could do knowing what the CSA are like. your best bet would be contact them and speak to the person dealing with your case. they MAY be able to help you, however through personal experience they can also be the most unhelpful people on the face of the planet. be careful as you can be ****** over by the CSA. i have known of 2 people that ended up paying their other half's maintenance for their kids because they were out of work.
sorry this isn't much help and it all sounds really bad, but the CSA have no morals or standard procedures at all. each case will be different. Just BE CAREFUL with what you are telling them about your situation.

Child support is based on your income not hers. If your wife gets fired from her job and she doesn't have any money to keep food in your childs mouth or a roof over your childs head, what will you do? Hopefully your answer is yes and you would help her to support your child. >^^<

No, your child support payment has nothing to do with her money its all about what you make, how many kids you have and then its a percentage of that. If your x gets fired than she will have to deal ...it has nothing to do with you. However if your pay check goes down or you get laid off you can have it re-evaluated to lower because of your loss of income. Hope this helps.

No it shouldn't. When there is an official set limit of what your child support, then that's what it will be. Besides, child support does exactly that "support the child". There's no such thing as "Ex-support". If she gets fired from her job, that's her problem. Not yours.
