Yes, it does. it was common in the Colonial America era, you'll see at the salem witch trials, for example, Anne Putnam's daughter was Anne Putnam, jr. It fell into disuse for some reason, not quite sure why.

Although it is possible to do this, when the woman gets married, her last name will change therefore she will no longer be (last name here) Jr. or III. This is the reason that adding a suffix to a female's last name isn't typical. However you can still name your child after you and assign a Jr. or III or whatever, and maybe she will refuse to change her name when she gets married or maybe she won't get married at all to preserve the family name, you never know ;) This could be an interesting family tradition for you all to start!

Certainly it happens, but after a few years the confusion usually finds them resorting to calling the daughter by her second name, or a variation of the first name. Margaret can become Meg, Marg, Maggie, or something entirely a nickname.

I saw this twice with my in-laws. One was referred to as "jr", the other chose to go by her middle name.

i think it's still Jr....that's what they say in Finding Nemo.
but daughter's aren't usually named after parents, usually parents or named after their parents but as a middle name.
