the people cut themselves on their arms, and other conspicuous places?? i mean obviously they are doing it for attention otherwise they would put it somewhere where no one will find them (their thighs or stomach ect) do you agree???

i must agree....yeah it is a 'cry for help' in the case of some of the people doing it on their arms...that is another reason...but the people doing it in obviously places cannot deny they want attention or are 'crying for help' in some aspect. either way its quite pathectic attempt:P yes they should be ridiculed:)

yes, i do think they should be ridiculed. people who cut themselves are pathectic and weak. and people who cut themselves in obvious places are even more pathectic and even weaker.
and your getting sucked in by their self indulgent behaviour.

cutting are seldom times because of psychological problems.. it has been explained that when someone cuts themselves several times, it is because that is their way of releasing pressure and anger, in other words, cutting makes them feel content, and it usually gets addicted to it too.. but today that the emo genre is once again taking place mainstream, others would have been doing it by simple means of showing off and as well as making them feel part of the community (peer pressure)

the arm is the easiest and more common to do it. i had friends who were cutters and one cut on his shoulders so his shirts can hide it. but those who do it on their arms usually cover it some how. this girl alwyas wore a cut up sock over her arm but since its white it would sometimes be stained red. but she always had excuses as to what the red marking was.
my point is some ppl cover some dont cover. nonetheless it isnt stupid, its just a cry for help. instead of calling it stupid and sitting and poking fun about it, try and help them instead. they are calling for attention, attention for someone to save them from their destructive lives. not sit and watch it happen and call it stupid!! u obviously know little about cutters!!
P.S They should be ridiculed because they choose to cut in obvious places? r u kidding me? its ppl like u that drives them to cutting. You seriously need a wake up call if u sit there and ridcule ppl that cut, they arent stable mentally nor emotionally. and u wanna further complicate that by riduclign them? and you told me u, urself is a cutter, so why is it okay to ridcule? oh is it because u hide urs and its not obvious? there should be less ppl like you so we have less ppl cutting themselves!!!!

If you don't understand why you cannot just say they are attention seeking it's far more psychologically deeper than that it is not just black or white...i guess until you yourself actually research and find out why these people feel the need to do such a thing to themsleves you really shouldn't lable it as stupid or attention seeking.... so i guess no i don't agree with you.

Maybe this is the only way they can feel alive.Maybe some one hurt them so bad they feel dead.What's wrong with wanting attention?What's wrong with wanting to feel like you matter.
Some people can be so mean to others, hurt them so bad that they must react.Some how your question is a put down, almost you seem jealous of any life these kids my be able to breath.Shame on You.

No I don't agree. When someone cuts or does any self harm they are trying to avoid another pain. I don't really think they are thinking clearly enough to decide where to inflict this self harm, they just feel the need. These people need help not judgement or ridicule!.

unfortunately, it's a major issue with some kids....stupid maybe but it's a cry for help from a very emotionally troubled person that needs help.....

I used to do it years ago but it wasn't for attention I liked it. The feeling of being drunk off of my ass and bleeding was sensational to me. I dont know why but I dont do it no more. Its been many years
