Yeah I just wonder how do you break it in America since I'm from Australia and want to pursue a acting career where do you go from there on.

Hi,

If you do a search here on answers you will see other answers to this question, as it comes up usually a couple of times each day. I answer this question a lot and so instead of writing the same or similar answers over and over again, I have created a 28-page ebooklet that answers pretty thoroughly your question. Just go to http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/acs-blog.html , sign in on the right side of the page and you can download it for free. It's called: What It Takes To Become An Actor.

The second resource you might want to have a look at is this page: http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/how_to_get_an_agent.html . It takes you through a process that I used to get two agents and a personal manager in a short period of time.

Here is a list of some of the casting websites you can check out:

It's not as good as having an agent, but I have gotten some auditions and jobs this way. I use nycastings and actorsaccess mostly. I have found that with two or three of these sites, I'm pretty much covered with regard to the important auditions that are out there. Once you start checking too many different sites, you find that there is a lot of repetition.

www.bigbreakny.com

www.castingnewyork.com

www.easycasting.com

www.actormarketing.biz

www.nycastings.com

www.backstage.com

www.lacasting.com

In the ebooklet, you will find that the first of about 10 resources I talk about and have personally used, there are some acting career coaches who can help you as well, at least in NY and LA.

And

And lastly, you will see that the first resource is a complete guide to planning your trip to NY, finding housing, keeping in touch back home, getting around and the whole nine yards as we say in the States!

Hope this helps!
