Most spend their life for the success. Some have achieved in academic life but a lot of them are successful in their jobs or business, his /her company and or even family . There are a group of people who succeed in nothing but it seems to me that they are happy. This means they are successful in their life? The success is truly important ? If I have failure in what I have expected for , does it mean nothing ? What do you think about your success?

Being successful does not necessarily mean one is happy or fulfilled. You are right; there are some people who have nothing, who are not successful or have not achieved anything in life but are happy and contented with their lot. These are the kind of people I hoped I could be because it means a life that is worry-free, no envy for those who are blessed and no agony over things I could not have. Some may disagree with what I said but, it's their opinion. I would have preferred a simple life with my family. I remember a popular saying in my country, from my hometown which, when translated, means: "Never mind if I always eat bananas, as long as there is much love."

Success could be important in some people's lives because it adds dignity and pride to their selves. It is a reflection of their struggles to reach the pinnacle of their ambition. If you have not attained success in any endeavor, do not despair. Although passe', the following phrase still holds true for me: "Try and try until you succeed."

i break my successes down in to sub-measures. in my academic life i have always been successful, when i have been at school or college or uni, in my working career i have always made the most of my career opportunities, no matter where i have worked, my personal life, far less successful, so i agree with you, with each other sub-measure of success, something else has had to give, and i think for me that has been my personal life, although it isn't all that bad, and i have learnt many lessons from my personal life, it's just not as successful as the rest.

It would largely depend on your definition of success. For most it is being happy with yourself, and i what you do. For others it is by measuring the material objects in their lives. For the rest it may be garnering recognition of what they have achieved.

your success or failure should be directly related to your own values not that of society...whatever success means to you is what is important...and anyone can be successful...at something
