Why are mathematics so important for that ?

Yes he has to think about the rate of fuel consumption as to the distance he is flying, along with the weight of the aircraft. With the military, he would also have to allow for the weight of the weaponry, and if used, it would factor into the distance he could travel afterward.

Yes, it is very true. Mathematics must determine angles of landing, the speed of the aircraft, tailwinds, position of the plan, flight plan etc... The forces at work on an aircraft must be calculated in order to arrive at the destination safely

He has to although plane's computers makes it easy for them to solve mathematical problems and equations.

Yes. As a pilot you have to be very good at maths and physics.
