Condition is REALLY important. What some people think is mint condition is going to get put to the test by people buying. I would go get a Beckett guide to get a better idea of what is "valuable" and what isn't. Take some time and go through the cards to get an idea of what they are worth. You should do this anyway for insurance purposes.

Be prepared for a dealer/store owner to offer you 1/2 of book for the collection or individual cards. Then you have to decide if you want to piece it out or sell it whole. It also depends what you have (if it is regional star, signed, numbered, etc.), you may be able to do better because the dealer may give you more.

If all else fails, there is eBay, but you may have to charge a lot for shipping if the collection is pretty big. You can always do lots or individual cards, but do some searching to see what other cards like yours have been sold for and you can probably get a comparable price.

You can sell them on ebay, but if you have a lot an ebay store will save you a ton of money. I did that recently and it's been pretty fun.

The store format allows you to list cards with less value because you pay only $.06 per card to list them instead of
$0.35. I have had LOTS of people pick up commons that I never figured I'd sell. The downside is that the stores are fixed price as opposed to the excitement of an auction.

Good Luck!

Then post them on E-Bay or go to local card collecting event .
