I go back further, worse luck. No TV during the War so I remember listening to Winston Churchill's originally broadcast speeches, news read by Alvar Liddell, ITMA, Happydrome, Workers Playtime and Kiddies Favourites
And having to drink very syrupy highly flavoured Orange Juice and Cod Liver Oil every day
Air Raid Wardens checking on the blackout
Bombing raids and neighbouring houses on fire, or completely flattened
Being able to read a book at midnight in the light from the bombing of Liverpool Docks five miles away
Air Raid warning sirens and the All Clear
Emergency Water Supply (EWS) tanks on street corners
Air Raid shelters
Shrapnel as principal currency for 'swaps'
Cadging chewing gum from American soldiers

For a small child it was scary but hugely exciting.

Hi!

Yes, I remember those things. But how do we define age? The genetic material that formed us has been around in the gene chain since life began and continues to be around when the organism that has housed us for a while has disintegrated. We are eternal before we are born.

Do you remember before the crossbow was on the list of military secrets? When elephants had woolly coats? Do you remember when Michael Jackson was still black or the moment when wonder began to unfold at the utterance of the word?

Good wishes.

You can still get most of what you asked. I always loved Cremola Foam. (raspberry flavour). My mum used to buy it in the Co-Op. You used to put a spoonful into a glass of water and it fizzed up. Can't find it anywhere. Do you remember that one.
