Isn't the decision to have more than one sexual partner also a lifestyle choice? And if all parties agree why is it illegal?

We are bombarded daily with people saying it is a lifestyle choice, if we don't agree we are labeled as bigots. But a man named Tom Green went to court for several criminal charges inc. bigamy!
So why is a man decision to have 2 wives worse than having a same sex partner or many same sex partners?

Gays are born gay its not a choice, lets go with that theory for a moment, what if a man is born with a high sex drive that 1 woman cant handle so he needs more so its not his choice? And dont say masturbate cuz gays have that same option!

The narrow-minded view of the general public that has garnered it's judgements from a Judeo-Christian moral code has crippled our ability to make such choices.

It is a bit easier for them to accept homosexuality with the very idea you presented, it is a genetic factor not a choice.

But before I go further, lets define terms.
Bigamy is being married to more than one person with out the other parties having knowledge of each other.
Bigamy is wrong on an ethical level because it is based on dishonesty and lies.

Polygamy is having mutiple wives and/or partners in an open household. All the parties are aware of, and generally, live with each other.
There is no ethical reason that polygamy should be considered wrong as ong as all of the people are in agreement.

Bigamy and polygamy are both illegal in the US. That is because obviously we are too stupid (according to our governement) to make such personal choices.

However, I have several friends who live in polygamous relationships who are very happy and satisfied with their lives. My partner and I have actually been discussing the possibility of bringing in a third. As an alpha female I have no problem with this, in fact I look forward to having someone to share with. It is possible to love more than one person. Polygamy is simply an honest approach to sharing love, sex and life.

Bigamy is ilegal largely because of the massive inheritance problems you can be left with post death without a will.

As far as homosexual relationships, who told you to accept it? Why cant you just mind your own business and go on about your life? What are they gay people doing to you exactly?

If you dont like a thing, just dont participate. Why are we forced to accept religions other then our own? Because thats what America is all about, people being different and still being able to get along in a society and prosper.

You can have as many sexual partners as you like, but when you get married, and surely that is a "lifestyle choice" too, the little words............."forsaking all others, till death us do part".........come into it. Or had you missed that bit ? Sort of precludes bonking the rest of the world really. "Bombarded daily" ?????????????????? A rather sweeping statement don`t you think ? I must be missing something. I rather suspect that you`ve just put this question to generate some mischief....................... Have a nice day.

homosexuality is not something they choose to be, they are just born that way. It's not like a switch you turn on and off, but bigamy is a choice and luckily an illegal one!

How are you being "forced" to accept homosexuality? Bigamy is illegal because when you take your wedding vows, you are to honor and cherish the ONE person you are marrying and not multiple people. By committing bigamy, you will be breaking your vows.

I will start off by saying that sarcasm will be included to my remarks, otherwise i might have the same problem:S. You are completely right. Women are property, first their father's and then after they walk down the isle, out of their father's arms and into their husband's, theirs. The most terrible thing about homosexual marriage is that we good, white, straight, intelligent christians won't know who is the property! Plus, homosexuality should only be allowed for catholic Priests and their beloved choir boys. In the name of GOD. Because he told us to umm.. Purify those children.

I agree with the above person, its more of a legal issue due to wills and inheritence. I say if it makes you happy, go for it. Just don't get married legally and have a priest/preacher (or whatever your religious preference) do a ceremony for you.

As for gay relationships. I say that they should have whatever rights that any other couple have.

Being gay is not a choice - its a sexual orientation. You cant compare the two.
