for mobile homes, or can they live anywhere they want?

Why do mobile homes have wheels on them like a truck? I thought it's the same as a caravan, is it not?

Because people don't know the difference between a "trailer" and a pre-manufactured home. A "trailer" is permanently fixed on a frame attached to wheels. A mobile home is a pre-manufactured home, rather than built on site, transported to the property via wheels, which are removed and the home permanently fastened to the ground.

In most places, a mobile home can be placed anywhere it is zoned a residential area. They, of course, as with a house, are usually not allowed to be place in an area zoned for businesses, etc.

As beautiful as some of these are, they still carry a stigma from the World War two era in some areas, for cheap living and transient living, it has never changed so...?

As in Las Vegas, they have to be in designated trailer parks or far out in the desert where no man lives. Other areas, usually where they want. Where we live now, they're all switching to side by sides or, manufactured homes due to the cost of stick homes.

I don't know if the stigma will ever be broken. A nice manufactured home can be well into 100,000.00 now where a stick home of the same area and size will be twice that amount.
I can't build a stick home for the price of a manufactured home. So, these are becoming more common and the zoning boards will have to concede some day and start looking at them as good homes.
