People write really long answers, because they are trying to give the best advice/answer that they can.

Honestly, if it's not giving out very useful information, I believe it's just to try to get those 10 points by making it look like they put the most time and effort into their answer.

i like it sweet short and simple. but i write long answers if the necessity calls.

Sometimes there's no other way you can completely answer a question. However, it is *nice* when you can answer in only a sentence or two! :-)
