Interesting question! It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I am from Wisconsin so I have that midwest mentality. I would think more would vote for Obama because technically Hillary is a New Yorker. I think a lot of people in IL would feel like she doesn't care about the area because she didn't come home, she chose another home. I think Obama would get the overall majority of democrats in that area. However I am sure Hillary would get more of the independent vote over Obama. Obama is hard core liberal and Hillary at least pretends to not be so liberal sometimes.

Unless Obama starts showing some fire in the belly soon, Clinton will win. They split Blacks about evenly with a slight edge to Hillary. The Chicago Machine will pull out as many voters for him as they can, This is a must win election for the Dems, though, and Obama has to fight the perception that he can't win in the General Election.
But the nomination will likely be decided long before we get to vote and if that happens Obama might win the Illinois Primary just on sentimental grounds and to send the message that our State IS ready for a Black President.

properly, Obama has been in fee of the U. S. element of protection in Iraq and Afghanistan, yet he became in no way in fee of protection of the south edge of Chicago, so which you're an Obama supporter? The tenor of your question indicates in any different case, however the best judgment indicates you help Obama.

I think Hillary Clinton will get the female vote and I think more surprisingly she will get the young female vote. She is a formidable force to reckon with.

It's way, way, way too early to be predicting the primary winner outright. And it's way, way, way, WAY too early to be ruling out every other candidate in the field.
That said, I'd take Obama hands down. Clinton might have been born in chicago, but Obama is FROM chicago. he's represented them before, and he's got street cred. plus, politicians almost invariably win their home state.

The illegal aliens could be the swing vote (they will vote Hillary) but in the end Obama will win Illinois because he is the current senator and Blacks will come out to vote for him to cancel out the Hispanic (Legal and Illegal) vote.
It doesn't matter because Hillary will win the Democratic Nomination unless she screws up royally. Too many party hacks are committed to Bill to abandon Hillary.
I am voting for Ron Paul.

Given the current troubles the state democrats have caused in Springfield (the budget impasse), I wouldn't be surprised if people turn on both of them!

I think it is ridiculous that two junior senators, neither with established records of leadership could even be considered as Presidential nominee...
