First things first, are they a licensed contractor. If they are most contractors will have their license number on the contract. Call the company and tell them you have a warranty issue and you would like for someone to come out to take a look at it (this would be a good time to get a license # if you do not already have it). If they refuse or are no longer in business you will need to call your city's or townships Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. Roofing contractors come a dime a dozen and a a lot of them are not licensed and quite a few are considered "fly by night companies"(do a few jobs/scams and change company names). Wish you the best and hope it works out as painlessly as can be.

This is a good question: a contractor does not like " come-backs" or "recalls" on the job. It doesn't pay, they're loosing money. So, they're not going to rush out and make you happy, they made their money off you and your all done. Here's the problem.

I was a contractor but, didn't do all my own work, that was impossible, wiring, roofing, etc. So, I had a roofing company that did my work. I gave them four units of four-plexes. They did two, made a mess of one, holes etc. water came in after a rain and made a mess in a bedroom.
I waited until they unloaded their trucks and were ready to start their job and, went and, told them it was canceled. Due to shoddy work and no results, their work was all done with me.

You have no recourse, you have to have them come back, go and see them personally, don't call, it's easy to say "no" over the phone.

Explain the problem and how it's going to wreck your home.
If you have damages or not, give them about ten days then call and tell them your going to court, have everything in writing, keep all receipts and when you talk to them, leave your phone recorder on and record it all. Keep the tapes of the conversation.

I know of one job that was leaking, it cost the clients over ten thousand dollars in ruined walls and furniture.

I would also go and see the County building inspectors office and lodge a complaint there, then the codes division, along with the County board. Check to see if the Sherrifs office has any reports of a scam going on.

You should talk to whoever did it in the first place. Then you should get a second opinion. From a building Inspector or similar. Ask your local authority. After that you might need an Attorney.

I wonder if you got the same guy that did our roof. If you did, I'm real sorry. Call the Better Business Bureau. Bye

roofers are contractors governed by state, and or county. start by going to your county building and code enforcement office to file a complaint with a contractor.
