I don't feel the need to have some sort of advantage over people, if that's what you mean, or to always be in control. I DO like to be in control of my own personal "space" but otherwise am interested to hear other points of view, learn other ways of doing things, enjoy seeing someone else succeed, etc.

Yes.
It feels good to know/found out about something extra that others do not.
It gives you the advantage.
