I know the answer to that question.
NO
because I used to work as a temporary contractor in the Immigration Department

You cannot imagine what had happened there. I was completely in shock that I really though that was a joke.

For example, outside contractors don't have any background check like the government employees. They can have all kind of criminal backgrounds, including identity thievies. The worst part is that they have their hands on top private data across country and around the world, such as Green Card, fingerprinting, Social Security number for immigration.

There is a lot more stuffs that you cannot imagine that happens due to the changes into the so call "Homeland Security". This really sadden me. I only wish there was something can do to help this country to become better, but I don't know how or what to do.

Another examples that are not within my past department:
Homeland security failed for the Katrina and the 'do not enter list' proceduce such as Mr. Speaker with the deadly TB virus.

Of course not

I think the present government is bad
let s think fairly
first,do we have the right to have nuclear weapons and others not ?you may say we are a democratic country but you must know that Ahamadi Nejad elected and choosed by the iranian people(NB we are not sure if the president Bush desereved to be a president or not ,do you remeber the votes of the last state)
second: we are a democratic country but we hit Japan with 2 nuclear bombs at the end of the war without the need to do this (Japan was going to surrender)and we donot know if any japanese generation in the future may take revenege or not.
third:we allow some other countries to have nuclear weapond and help them like INDIA and ISRAEL WHICH is dangerous on the world peace and flaming wars from time to time (it is a reason of the hatred of many nations to usa)
forth:we have a very bad foreign policy against many countries like Cuba,Venezuela, middle east, north korea.,do you think if we have a fair normal diplomatic relation with these countries including iran ,does anyone of the world would attack us ?look at Canada ,it has a good realtions with all nations ,there is no terrorrism against it
fifth:we always attack others which makes them going to the steps of revenge.so if we stop shaking Iran regime ,do you think iranians and they know well that we are the strong power ,may attack us??

sixth: dealing with the iraq was is the worst .prisons of Abou ghareb ,killing citizens ,and many things which make others plans for revenge.

at the time of the second world war ,all countries of world and nations was looking up to USA ,now with the wrong decisions ,supporting some dictators, bad forign relations with many countries .the situation is difficult and there must be a change in the US policy

Has there been a succesful attack on US soil since 9/11? Let's be honest here. If the jihadists were to be succesful in carrying out an attack, the liberals would blame Bush for "inciting" it. If they aren't succesful (and believe me, they are trying!), the liberals will consistantly attack Bush for "taking away their constitutional rights". Historically, Lincoln and FDR took far greater liberties in restricting basic citizen's rights than Bush, and look how history has idolized them! But, seriously, what rights has Bush denied you? Liberals point to the Patriot Act, but most haven't even read it or understand it.

Well, Homeland Security has squandered billions of your tax dollars, which might mean you have less money to go out and buy guns and drugs - maybe that's how they think they've made the U.S.A. safer! -RKO- 07/21/07

NO! and that really frightens me. We have the most bazaar way of dealing with security issues. Our borders are not secure. What makes us think we ought to secure Iraq borders sooner than our own?

They frisk 87 year old great grandmothers using walkers.

On second thought, this really isn't making America more safe though it is making well connected contractors very rich.

Well, considering the fact that our borders are unsecure, i'd say no.
