Yes they do but they can't do it unless you give them permission to do so in most States.

Yes. For any woman, sexually active and under a certain age, STD tests are done almost automatically. It has to do with the CDC and health departments in your state. The test commonly done is for chlamydia and gonorrhea , you can ask for a blood test for HIV. There are other tests, such as herpes, but usually those can only be done when there is an outbreak. Your pap smear will tell the doctor if you have any abnormal cells, which could be HPV, this is done with the pap itself. Then, if it is abnormal, you will be called back to be tested for just HPV, possibly with a colposcopy, which is where the doc will look into your vagina with a microscope to check for visually abnormal cells on your cervix. Which then, if found, will be biopsied and sent for still more tests. If you are tested positive for STD's you and your partner will be put on antibiotics, and, as is the law, reported to the Health Department. Usually with a course of antibiotics, the chlamydia can be cleared up. You should be retested soon after.
Ask your GYN to do the tests if they do not automatically do so. It's better to be safe.
By the way.....the only way your parents can be told is with your permission. However, it is regularly done, so this isn't always an alert to possible problems. Do not worry and remember to talk to the Doctor about any issues you might have.

Yes. With a pap, they visually check for warts and/or herpes, and usually do a blood test for the others. If you can't afford a dr visit, and are esp concerned about this, check out Planned Parenthood. All results, by the way, are confidential BY LAW.
