I am just asking your personal opinion.

Do you think a university that instructs its students to do ONLY programming assignments and nothing else,

and also does not teach adequately the concepts behind IT

and does not give its students a chance to do research on IT can be regarded a good university?

It does only this, nothing else.

No, I think students that only concentrate on programming assignments would probably have a hard time developing their career. This may not be as visible in the beginning as in later career stages.

If all you want is to learn programming then it might be ok. But it's not a good education.

You sound like you are attending such a school now. Could it be that this is just a temporary phase and that the curriculum is going to change soon? If not, I would go to another place.

No! It is not a good university. Universities should not only do programming assignments. This only reflects a very incompetant group of education instructors admininstrating the course. It is time to pull out. Do not feel ashame to do it.
