When I joined far back in 2006, I saw Q & A here. It occured to me just I must train myself to ask Qs & Answer Qs.

If I'm to ask Q's, either I should be in doubt or it should be to test others.

I took the inoffensive option of : being in doubt.

So, I called myself , 'DoubtingTom', the term in common use that popped in my mind..

I could've very well called myself, 'Curious Caesar' or 'JerkingJohn', 'WackyWilliam' etc., etc.

What about your name here? Any Story behind?
..

I thought I had posted an answer to your question . Guess not. When my wife died 17 years ago, I was left with no family to speak of, On the belief that the only opportunity we will ever have to choose a relative is to get a dog, that is precisely what happened to me. I was alone, but had the best companion left in the world, my dog. He was special. I know he felt the pain I was in,because when I would cry, he would come up and lick my face, and snuggle close to me as though to say "I am still here and I love you'> In many ways he saved my life. When he died of old age, in order to perpetuate his memory, I took his name as my ID. His name was Alfie. Not a day goes by that I do not think of him, and how much I miss him.

It's a play on the word firebug. I'm a 9-1-1 supervisor, and I am fascinated with fire, suppression and rescue. The screen name suits my career.
