Linger

Delay my leave
To obsolete
For it is not
My strength that lingers

I want tomorrow
Only if it is mine
But even the walls know
Dreams are for dreamers

I speak and I will
Not fail my word
Diversion is small
In a world so vast

Astound me
In plain sights
I see the value
The worth to linger

Oh but to use the word
In your favor
Is a deed not of respect
I’ll say desire

As I stay
In hopes of the same
If I walk ahead
Take thee step with me

Let us not linger
While the sun is still
A scorch distracts
But we stay to shade

I think it's trying to say "Enjoy life, be careful."

But it is quite difficult to sort any kind logical or emotional meaning here. Stanza 4 (Astound me) is passable, the rest painful.

This poem feels like a profoundly unenlightened attempt at Zen.

Compare it to this:

The thief left it there.
There in the window.
The shining moon.

If this poem is about yourself I think it says that your trying to forget the past and what happened in it. You don't want to linger so your trying to move on.
