Well Cuculain, I don't suggest you get a job making war on the ocean unless you get Goethe's Faust to assist with dykes. Of the tuatha danaan to aid you. A philosopher is simply one who loves wisdom. Philosophers can do any job with some contentment. Epictetus was a slave, Marcus Aurelius an emperor - but both were philosophers. I believe that a true philosopher would be able to make a way in the world that was novel and different. Peace. =D

One good possibility is teaching, whether at the K - 12 level, or as a professor in a university. Your professors should be able to give you lots of ideas, too. Also, talk to the academic counselors at your university, they also have lots of ideas.

Teaching music; playing music; journalism on music. But of course you can work at a gas station, or sell ties at Macy's and so on...

Little if anything worthwhile, IMO.
Oh, right, "music teacher." That's like multi-level marketing and what value will it have for YOUR students, simply to "teach others," and what value will it have for them, to teach more "others"?
Why don't you do something that's more down-to-earth? I just don't like music careers.
