To be cousins you have to share grandparents, so there would be a minimum of 4 in the first generation, 8 in the second, this would leave you with 32768 possible grandparents in 13 generations.

This being the case the 'once removed' is a bit superfluous don't you think?

Going on from that if we allow 25 years per generation, we have 13 * 25, we are talking of ancestors of about 325 years ago, say about 1682 when to say least records were minimal.

Unless of course you were 2 French explorers navigating the Mississippi and claiming Louisiana for France, or Charles 11 of Great Britain

So it was all a long time ago and whilst no doubt Prince Charles can trace his 'line' back, it seems unlikely that George W. can.

I suppose that you could work out the odds statistically, i.e. the total number of people, say in Europe at that time divided by 32768 however, does it really matter?

13th cousin once removed? I reckon Im Prince Charles 13th cousin ... with around a million other people. The numbers are astronomical, you need a mathematician to work that out

No, it's not true that George Bush is Prince Charles's 13th cousin once removed.

The only link between them is that they have both had their brains removed.

I had heard that they were distantly related - but don't know exactly to what extent (but 13th cousin once removed is certainly distant)
