no.alcohol dehydrates the system,extremely so in high altitudes,if you "must" drink to escape,have a couple before boarding.try an over the counter sleep aid,the hum of the engines should rock you to sleep.
it's lovely up there,how often do you get to drift among the clouds,and just day dream?

Your blood alcohol level almost triples once you hit 20,000 feet.
It will dehydrate you severely and is possibly the WORST time to consume alcohol.

i would but, thats me, i love my alcohol! ya and if there was an annoying guy or baby or something else, u could be really drunk so as u said u wouldn't know whats going on.

i hate flying too but when i watched "airport" on tv, they would always stop people who were drunk and not let them on the plane. drink once you get on.
