650,000? Is that the anti-American, Looney Left, Socialist number du jour?

Regardless of the number, they were killed by other Iraqis (and the Syrians, Iranians and Saudis working from Iraq); not by President Bush. But hey, I don't expect you to let facts get in the way of a good anti-American tirade. Must be cool living in Fantasyland (Conspiracyworld?)

Guess what? People die in war. Always have, always will. Perhaps if the Iraqis would stand up for themselves and run the Islamo-fascists out of their own country, less people could die (theirs and ours).

Billions of Muslims in the world and we're told the radicals are a "tiny percentage" of the Muslim population. If that's the case, why haven't this overwhelming majority of "peaceful" Muslims eliminated the radical ones? Could it be because, deep down, they agree with them.

Let the "thumbs down" icons fly. When a major American city is reduced to a smoking hole in the ground, you'll see that we "mean ol' Conservatives" were right. Of course, that'll be our fault too, as viewed from Left. Damned if we do, damned if we don't. We're used to carrying you losers and protecting your freedoms when you don't have the courage to do it yourselves.

Check out the site below to get a little more info on your "peaceful" Muslim friends.

EDIT- Dear "dont know". Let's start at the end and work backward. I'm well aware of who founded this country and what we refer to as a Liberal in 2007 is a far cry from what a Liberal was in the 1770s. Those men were moral, deeply religious and valued their families and their newborn country. Modern liberals wouldn't fight for their country if you killed 3000 Americans in downtown New York in broad daylight.

Majority? According to some poll of 1100 New Englanders? That's less than .0045% of the US adult population. Yeah, that's a representative sample! Geez.... I don't hate any Americans. Quite the contrary. I pity those too soft and sorry to realize that war is a necessary tool to keep the world safe. War is ugly, bloody, tragic and sad. But make no mistake about it, there will always be wars, you just have to decide if you want to win or lose. You've made your decision quite clear. If Iraqis die in a war brought about because they refuse to eliminate the terrorists from their midst on their own, that's just too damn bad. Better 1,000 of them than 1 of us.

"Based on lies", Why not use the "Bush lied, people died" line most of the uninformed left likes to chant? At least it rhymes. Not true, but don't let the facts get in your way. President Bush DID NOT LIE. He may have used the same faulty intel that Congress used but he didn't lie. Hell, even Saddam thought he had WMDs! Regardless of how we got there, if we continue to succeed (and we are, btw) the end will justify the means.

The military divulges far too much information as it is. They are in the business of war. Part of that requires that information be withheld, distorted, stretched and out and out fabricated. Sorry, the first casualty of war is the truth, and with good reason.

I just read your other Q&As. Anyone who believes in 9/11 conspiracy theories and that GEORGE F'N SOROS is a good American is clearly too far gone to be expected to have rational thoughts. Have a nice day, put your tin-foil hat on nice and tight and watch out for black helicopters.

650,000 seems like quite a high number. I always believed it to be between 150-300 thousand Iraqis have died because of this war. Bush and the U.S. military aren't the ones doing all the killing, REMEMBER the death squads, militants, shiite-sunni civil war, car bombs, Al Qaeda In Iraq, foreign fighters in Iraq especially from Saudi Arabia (look up "Saudis in Iraq" on yahoo news #5 at least right now), even the Iraqi army is taking up arms in the bloodbath. The only argument against this, is that Bush created a destabilized Iraq which lead to this bloodbath, but Bush and the U.S. troops have killed a very small percentage of innocent Iraqis. I don't like you calling Bush a mass murderer, yes, he has made some horrible mistakes, but this is a war and the U.S. is in it, hopefully soon, ALL TOGETHER! If we don't, we will lose this battle, remember this battle is only the second battle of an extremely long war against Al Qaeda and the threat of "terrorism".

Yes. They are still complaining about Clinton --most recently about the pardons he issued before leaving office. This they cite as a justification for pardoning Libby.

Libby participated in the retaliation Joe (?) Wilson for publicizing facts about WMD that the President didn't want to hear. Or more precisely, he didn't want us to hear.

We don't know exactly what Libby did or didn't do, because he obstructed the investigation. But "outing" CIA agents, obstructing justice, and retaliation against fact-finders are not something anybody would defend as "in the national interest" or "patriotic".

The present crowd of people in the highest offices are preoccupied with taking care of themselves and have forgotten their duty to the nation. They have proved the truth of the saying, "absolute power corrupts absolutely".

i logged in just to give a 'thumbs down' to bigoilman's blathering

there is no way of knowing how many unnecessary, totally avoidable civilian deaths in Iraq, but it ranges from 100,000 to 650,000

here is a list of four different surveys (the U.S. military does not keep track of civilian deaths, much like it does not allow photos of flag draped coffins to be published)
http://www.onlinejournal.com/artman/publish/article_643.shtml

what is more, between 2 million and 4 million Iraqi refugees have been created by this war
http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=million+iraq+refugees&fr=ush-ans

bigoilman, there is nothing good about this war, it was based on lies, it has only created more enemies and danger, overstretched the military, and bankrupted the treasury (have you noticed what a U.S. dollar is worth internationally now, compared to 4 years ago?)

you are not helping your country either, by sneering at facts that don't appeal to you as "left wing" whatever you were foaming off about, and hating the majority of your country's population, which is against this war, and against the criminal Bush regime. it looks like you hate the majority of Americans as much as you hate Muslims...

Get a clue, America was founded by liberals in Massachusetts.

I don't know. The US sanctions on Iraq during 1990s did hurt lot of innocent people(children, poor people..etc). Also, the US did carry out bombing missions in Iraq through out 1990s. Lot of Iraqis did die and suffer due to our sanctions and bombing strikes during Clinton days. Just so you know.

Who Say's they are all innocent. All the pictures and videos I see coming from the Middle East a lot show little children graduating from suicide school waiting to blow up Americans with themselves. So someone has to be teaching them this who are the innocent ones teaching this crap to their next generation.I feel sorry for the children, the rest of them would as soon as slit your throat as to eat breakfast.
